Winter brings an abundance of vegetables including mustard in Punjab and Indian. Traditionally, Sarson ka saag and Makke di roti is the dish of the season and to celebrate that, Delhi Highway, Sakinaka has brought winter special thali, called Punjab National Highway Thali, to their menu.
Before gorging on the Thali, we ordered a couple of starters mocktails. I tried Apple Mojito which was a refreshing mix of Sprite and apple juice.
Charcoal Mushroom had a stuffing of cheese and bell peppers. Naram Dil Kabab had tender paneer, cheese and green peas in a crispy outer shell. Both the starters liked by us.

The Thali consisted famous Sarson Ka Saag and crispy Makke Di Roti, Punjabi Chole, Aloo Methi, Lehsun ka Achar, Onion & Green Chilli Salad, Makhan (White unsalted butter), Gud, Jalebi and Kulad Ki Chaas.

The combination of the Makke Di Roti with hot Sarson Ka Saag and Chhole brought the true flavors of the north. The Makhan, Gud, Garlic Pickle in mustard oil and the Aavla, mango and chili pickle were great accompaniments.

We also tried Punjabi Pakoda Kadhi and Dum Ghee Rice that were separate from the Thali. The long basmati rice grains soaked in ghee and topped with fried onions were too good to resist.

Finally, we washed all this down with a Kulhad Chhas.
Being pure vegetarian restaurant and serving authentic North Indian fare, would surely love to visit again with my family.
