Cordelia Cruise | Realizing the Dream: A Journey of Fulfillment

Back in 2010, on our first anniversary, we found ourselves basking in the beauty of the Amari Coral Beach Resort in Phuket, Thailand.
One serene morning, as we stood on our balcony, the Indian Ocean greeted us with a breathtaking sunrise. In the distance, a majestic cruise liner caught our eye, igniting a dream within us.

After a bit of research, we learned more that it was Super Star Virgo – operating from Singapore, and discussed our aspirations to visit Singapore and sail on such a grand vessel in the future. That day, we hired a long-tail boat and ventured close to the cruise liner, capturing precious memories through our lenses.

Over the years, our dream took a backseat amidst various other vacations. However, when news of a luxury cruise – Cordelia Cruises, in India surfaced, I eagerly shared the idea with Mihir. Both Mihir and Yuven shared my enthusiasm for the adventure. Though initially hindered by the pandemic, Diwali 2023 presented us with the perfect opportunity to set sail on our long-awaited cruise vacation.

We secured our booking well in advance to avail of early bird discounts on the cabin rates. Originally, we planned to embark from Goa, cruise through Lakshadweep, and conclude our journey in Mumbai.

Opting for an ocean-view room for three nights seemed ideal at first. However, after a couple of months, I started feeling that the Ocean View room may be claustrophobic for me. While browsing other room options, I discovered that our chosen dates had undergone itinerary changes due to the festive season. Upon inquiry, we learned about their email communication, which slipped through the cracks. Cordelia offered us a room upgrade for the same days or a night extension with the same cabin class. Eventually, we decided to upgrade our cabin to a mini-suite (that has a balcony) and opt for a 4-night cruise at the prevailing rates. Our new itinerary turned out to be Mumbai-Lakshadweep-Mumbai for 4 nights in a mini-suite that comes with a balcony.

Booking our accommodations proved to be a seamless process. Whether through their app, website, or email, contacting their team facilitated our inquiries and negotiations, ensuring a smooth transaction. As Diwali approached, we found ourselves away from our family for the first time, celebrating the festival in Mumbai before embarking on our sailing adventure.

Stay tuned for more updates in the upcoming blogs, as we delve into our memorable journey!
