- Booking Tips
- Book your cruise well in advance, especially if you are planning to travel during the peak season, to get a good deal.
- Ship Condition
- The ship shows signs of wear and tear due to its age, but good efforts are being made to keep it clean and presentable.
- Room Amenities
- In our mini-suite, there was an Indian-style electric plug and a health faucet in the toilet. These amenities may not be available in other room categories.
- Premier category passengers enjoy happy hours on sea days.
- Housekeeping in room is done daily.
- The AC is effective, but the thermostat doesnโt work; it is centrally maintained.
- Basic toiletries and a hair dryer are provided, but there is no electric kettle.
- The shower area in the room is quite small.
- Onboard Costs
- Be prepared for higher charges on everything for any purchase you make, including drinks, and Wi-Fi.
- Room Selection
- If you choose a room on the 9th deck, select one towards the back of the ship. Rooms towards the front, especially below the poolside open deck, can be noisy due to furniture movement.
- Pool and Water Play Area
- The pool uses seawater, so it is salty and has a depth of about 6 feet.
- The Jacuzzi and kids’ water play area are enjoyable.
- Special Requests
- The cruise accommodates special requests like cakes, flowers, photo shoots, surprise arrangements, and special food requests.
- Adherence to Policies
- The staff strictly adheres to time schedules and policies for meals, check-out, excursions, etc.
- Show Seating
- There might be queues for good seats at shows. Sometimes the cruise was full and the public panicked, but the staff managed the situation well.
- Library and Card Room
- The library and card room are rarely used.
- Activities and Programs
- Some programs, games, and activities start on time, while others may be delayed or fill up quickly. Plan accordingly.
- Kids’ Activities
- Cordelia Academy is suitable for kids below 6-7 years old, although it is advertised for children up to 11 years old.
- Water Supply
- The cruise provides sufficient water bottles daily. However, the water from the water station tastes a bit different.
- Check-Out Process
- The wait for the lift during check-out can be frustrating.
- Excursion Tips
- Booking a shore excursion in advance can save you money and secure an early time slot for the island visit.
- The journey from the jetty to Agatti Island was smooth and well-managed, but the return journey involved long queues for transport back to the jetty. Arrangements at the jetty were well-organized.
- Carry sufficient water bottles from the ship because no water bottles are available at the beach. Drinking water is available, but it tastes different.
- Do not bring seashells from the beach as they won’t be allowed through security.
- Although there are age restrictions for some activities mentioned on the website, locals at the beach allowed participation in all activities regardless of age.
- The glass boat tour is a good family activity especially if you are with kids and can’t do any other activity.
- Dining Experience
- All meals have a good spread, but after a day or two, the menu may feel repetitive. As vegetarians, we can’t comment on the non-vegetarian items.
- The sandwiches that are served until midnight are not quite appealing. You may safely give them a miss.
- The Starlight Restaurant (which serves only veg & Jain food) was chaotic compared to the food court, but it offers a fine dining experience.
Hope these tips and takeaways help you plan and enjoy your Cordelia cruise vacation better.
