Pondicherry Diaries – Day 5: Return Journey to Chennai and an Evening at the VGP Marine Kingdom

This was our last morning in Pondicheery. After four wonderful days, we packed our bags and bid farewell to this charming town. A cab booked through MakeMyTrip arrived on time, and the two-and-a-half-hour journey from Pondi to Chennai unfolded smoothly. We reached our destination – Fairfield by Marriott in OMR.

Our room was equipped with a kitchen setup, a microwave, a refrigerator, and basic utensils. After a brief rest and a welcome platter, we enjoyed a quiet lunch in the hotel’s restaurant, savoring the empty yet delightful ambiance.

Visit to the VGP Marine Kingdom:

The afternoon brought us to VGP Marine Kingdom, a mesmerizing marine-themed amusement park. A quick Uber ride got us there in just 30 minutes. The entry featured a photo click, a memory we could purchase as a souvenir later. The park showcased a variety of marine species in captivating setups. Notable attractions included an underwater tunnel where we strolled surrounded by aquatic wonders, and Mihir and Yuven had fun at the game setup before the tunnel. The park also had a cozy café for refreshments and well-maintained washrooms.

Evening Retreat:
As the clock neared 7:00 PM, we skipped the plan to visit a nearby beach and opted for an auto ride back to the hotel, taking around 30 minutes. While searching for a nearby fine-dining restaurant, we realized there weren’t many options. So, we decided to have dinner in the hotel’s restaurant. After a satisfying meal, we took a hotel tour and called it a day, knowing that the next morning we held a flight to catch.

Thus, we concluded our short but splendid vacation – a memorable journey filled with exploration, marine wonders, and the joy of discovering new places.

Until the next adventure, Pondicherry, you will be dearly missed!
