City by the Bay: San Francisco Travel Series (Part 4) – Golden Gate Bridge, Palace of Fine Arts & Presidio

Our San Francisco adventure continued with some of the city's most iconic landmarks—the Golden Gate Bridge, Palace of Fine Arts, and Presidio. We started our day at the Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Center, where we explored the history and engineering behind this world-famous landmark, enjoyed spectacular bay views, and stopped at the Round House Café. From there, we headed to the beautiful Palace of Fine Arts, wandered around its picturesque lagoon, and admired its breathtaking architecture. Our journey continued to the historic Presidio, where we stopped at Lucasfilm, explored the Yoda Fountain, and took the Presidio GO Shuttle to experience more of this vast national park site. We ended the day at Tunnel Tops, enjoying spectacular Golden Gate Bridge views in the light drizzle and peaceful surroundings. In Part 3 of our San Francisco travel series, we explore the lively Union Square and experience the city’s iconic cable car ride. From its historic roots to its modern-day charm filled with shopping, art, and cultural events, Union Square offers a vibrant city experience. We share our visit to the Super Nintendo Store, relaxing break at Macy’s, and the festive vibe of the plaza. The highlight of the day was riding the famous San Francisco Cable Car System, especially the Powell–Mason line, offering stunning street views and a unique travel experience. We also cover useful tips on tickets, timing, and avoiding crowds. Additionally, we provide insights into the Cable Car Museum, its history, and why it’s worth visiting. To top it off, we tried a futuristic Waymo driverless ride, making the day even more memorable.

City by the Bay: San Francisco Travel Series (Part 2) – Exploring Fisherman’s Wharf & Pier 39

Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39 are among the most lively and iconic areas to explore in San Francisco. During our October visit, we stayed close to the waterfront and ended up visiting this vibrant neighborhood three times in six days. From watching playful sea lions at Pier 39 to enjoying panoramic waterfront views, the area offers a mix of history, entertainment, and food experiences. We explored the famous Pier 39 marketplace, stopped by the SkyStar Wheel, and enjoyed delicious meals at the legendary Boudin Bakery known for its sourdough bread bowls. A visit to Ghirardelli Square was another highlight, where we indulged in amazing chocolate desserts and enjoyed beautiful sunset views near Aquatic Park. Although we skipped attractions like Aquarium of the Bay and the USS Pampanito submarine museum this time, they remain interesting options for visitors. If you are planning a San Francisco trip, Fisherman’s Wharf is definitely a must-visit destination.
